 - Dont suppose anyone's written a... ...little function for count lines of code? I was going to do this a little while ago, hoping to count each line in each file in each folder etc etc, and then determine whether it was say ASP, HTML or comments....and give totals...  - how to get a frame or mms from an ip cam using a mobile phone? Hello, Excuse me if I am not so clear on what I a looking for, but its getting very hard to find any software,application or information that will let me access or get a frame(still image) from a web cam or ip cam. I have different ip cams connected to the internet, they continuously send images refreshed over the internet. I would like some kind of software,application or the necesarry routines in order to be able to send a frame to the mobile phone that tried to access the ip address of the given ip cam. I am not sure if what I need is wap, xhtml, java, or mms sending after a a mobile requests it. How can I achieve this? Please refer me to some software developer that you may know that lets achieve this. Do you know any websites that already provide such a service? I mean they have web cams from which you can get an image from the mobile cellular phone ? I may contact them and ask them how they did it. All your help regarding this is deeply appreciated. The problem I'm running into is that the same page that prints to the output is also recieving data from the previous page for query parameters for the sql string. When I click on the next page, it queries itself and loses all the query parameter information from the parameter page and brings back all the records.  - NT4 vs W2K I noticed something recently. When running an ASP on my NT4 machine (IIS?) my asps load in a manner which displays the page information as it loads line by line. I then moved this page to my new W2K machine and notice that the info on the asp now only appears after the entire page is done processing. While in the end they may both be taking the same amount of time to complete, I think I like the old way better. At least this way you could be giving a status of it's process. I have another array(from a linked table) that has matching column names from the original database.  - Incorrect Date Format Hi Everybody, I hope this is the correct newsgroup for this, if not please let me know where should i send this question which is driving me crazy. The problem is the FormatDateTime function it is changing the date format to MM/dd/yyyy but we need dd/MM/yyyy. We already changed the regional settings for the administrator user. Access the regedit tool and change the format to dd/MM/yyy on all the users on the server but we are still getting the incorrect format. First we got for every case the format switch.  - Application Variables Hi, I have a general question regarding ASP Application variables. I'm building a web app with a lot of ASP files which I'd like to split out into several different subfolders. However, I noticed that application variables that I set up in my Application_OnStart event sometimes survive switching to a different folder while at other times they do not. I am relatively new to ASP so I'm not sure if I'm doing something that inadvertently unassigns these variables. One thing I kow I'm not doing is explicitly reassigning or unassigning them. My other option is to assign them in a default.asp or some other generic file that I replicate in all my folders and include in the entry point asp file to each folder, but I'd rather avoid the redundancy so as not to complicate maintenance further.  - Slightly off topic : Reducing piracy/licensing etc... Hi all, I've written an application that's currently being used by 1 company, and soon to be used by another. I was thinking the other day how as this is all just written in ASP - ie, no .dll's or anything else, I have very few ways to prevent anyone working at these companies taking a copy of the application and distributing it to other people. Whilst they'd probably need to know ASP and have a good database knowledege - it would still be possible. I would like to try and reduce the possibility of this happening as much as possible. I am soon going to issue a license number to the company using it, they will then be able to use this with their details to login to our server for updates and so on - so I can restrict what people get that way I suppose. What I was wondering was whether I should take the 'login' page completely out of the application at the clients end and put it on our own servers - ie, they login with their username/password/license number and then get sent back to the application at their end - but even this is not really 'secure', plus anyone with a little ASP knowledge could just remove the security code in the application at the moment if they really wanted too... (hehe, maybe I shouldn't have commented the code :D)... So, does anyone have any good ideas on how to reduce (note I dont say prevent) the chances of my application being distributed for free etc? I normally wouldn't be too bothered, but it took around 6 months to develop, they've been using it since April this year and seem happy with it, and there has been a lot more work done on it since, I'm sure it could be better, but for me its something I'm quite proud of. Basically, what I'm looking for, is some sort of script that I can drop into a folder on my server, and when someone visits that specific folder (I'm going to remove all file's from the folder as I've moved the site), the script detects the file is not there, and auto-redirects them to the new location (kind of like a "clever" 404 page). As I do not have direct access to my server's settings (such as editing 404 pages etc), I cannot do it the "normal" way. Performance is a major concern as this app requires SSL. My question is, when does it become more about the challenge of building faster apps vs. getting the job done??? I would like a somewhat user-friendly way to have the browser-side user
select a file to upload and then have that file be uploaded to my web
server. Speed is an issue. Please advise!!
