    - javascript window reszing problem Hi I am displaying a page inside an Iframe, and I would like to enlarge the iframe window to the size of the browser when the browser window loads up. In the onload event of the browser I am calling javascript to do this and it works ok for ie.6.0 but not 5.5.     - Basic Authentication no prompt login box I have a problem with basic authentication. I redirect a user from a page to another. I don't want to get the NT prompt login, I want the user to be logged in automatically. I want to send the username/password to the page. I have read something about cookies and sending username/password through the header.     - ASP / IIS Recordset not updatable Hello, When I try to run the following code I get an error: "Recordset not updatable". It is possible to show data from the same table on a webpage, so the database name and the table nam must be correct. I 've tried several other things, also leaving out the adOpenDynamic, adlockOptimistic.     - Close pop window and refresh the parent window Hi Guys Wonder if someone can help me with this. I have a form where a user clicks a button which gives them a pop up windows to allow them to add the data. The user adds the data and click save. The pop window closes and refreshs the parent window to allow the entered data to be displayed. It was all working okay until couple of days back when it stopped. Can someone offer any help. I want to determine the length of strString in # of characters, and write that number of characters on a subsequent line as a dummy character, say a hypen.     - General Q about SOAP I'm looking for a 30,000 foot view on this quesition. I want my SQL Server box/IIS server to be able to demand information at will from a remote server running UNIX. I need the information to be restricted from the general public (available only by authentication, for instance) and made secure during transit (e.g. encrypted stream). I've installed a Thawte cert on my machine. Is SOAP an appropriate technology to deploy in this case given my security needs? Is there a better choice of tech that still allows interoperability/flexibility with varying data stores on the other end? Does SOAP allow authentication against certificates and/or MAC numbers, or does it generally autheticate using other means (e.g. passwords.?) What's the best practice?     - Very Weird , plz help K i got this prob : Im building an app that will read from a foxpro dbf , find out if the table is empty and if it is it will be overwritten with a blank one (using filesystemobject) My prob is this, On my local pc all goes well , when i upload it to the server i get a file does not exist error , both the server and my pc have exactly the same folder tree and the same files ( ive checked it over 100 times now ) but the error still persists. "Inventory" and "Price" These tables are used by 2 restaurants... the inventory has what they sell, and prices has the corresponding prices to those items for each location. What I want to do: I want to get a list of all items in the "Inventory" table and the corresponding price from the "Price" table for a location, unless the column "SHOW" (in the "Price" table) is set to "N" It might sound like "Just use a LEFT JOIN"... but if there is no entry for the item in the "Price" table, I still want a result I tried using: =============== select i.name, p.price1 from inventory i LEFT JOIN prices p ON p.itemID=i.itemID where ( (i.itemType=7) AND (i.canusa='usa') AND (p.storeID=99) AND (p.show='y') ) =============== But that only returns the items that have prices set up in the prices table...     - ADO fails FSO works on a share IIS 5.0 is running on a Win2K Server called serverA as a domain user. The domain user has administrator rights on the server. The database is on serverB(Win2K server). The IIS domain user also has full rights to the share. The database is an Access97 database that is part of another application. I made a copy of the database and did a compact and repair on the copy. It opens fine with Access 97 and has no security restrictions. The short of it is I can write to and read from the directory using: Set ScriptObject = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set MyFile = ScriptObject.OpenTextFile("\\serverB\care\vcare4x\database\fc01\testfile.txt", 8,true) So the base permissions should be OK. I get the dreaded 80004005 Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. when I try this code: MdbFilePath = "\\serverB\CARE\VCARE4X\DATABASE\FC01\vc40clin_IIS.mdb" Conn.Open "Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & MdbFilePath & ";" When I put a copy of the database on the IIS server (not a permanent option) the page works fine.     - Global asa refresh I have an application that loads an array in the global ASA file. Sometimes that array gets lost for no real reason, resulting in a ubound error. MS has a solution which involves removing virus-scanning and backup procedures...which is not an option. My question is simple...is there ANY way to force the Global.ASA to relaod that array? Currently I have to go in and edit the global.asa, add a few spaces and then backspace and save and it causes a reload.     - How to get the second table from sp_help result? I am using SQL Server 2000 and I want to be able to list out all the field names and their datatypes from a particular table. I found out that sp_help does that but unfortunately when using a recordset, I could only get the first of the 3 tables. I run a Windows 2000 Server server and one of my sites is quite database intensive and uses a mixture of PHP and ASP scripts to access an Access database using a system DSN. Lately I've been having problems with ASP. Occasionally I or a user receive the "RPC server is unavailable" error message on a web site. I've set the application protection to "High" and been able to locate which site is responsible for these errors, however it turns out to be my site and I have no idea what to do next since I have dozens of ASP scripts written over the course of several years and any one of them could be causing this. Here are the messages that I've been seeing in the System Log and Application Log. During heavy traffic periods I'm seeing the ASP entry every few minutes sometimes, and during low traffic it goes fine for hours. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm really stuck and I'm all out of ideas other than converting all my ASP to PHP since those scripts are running fine. I've been using ASP with SQL Server for some time now, and while I've occasionally looked into XML, its benefits have never seemed apparent enough to me for me to dig any deeper and make any use of it. Well, I'm using a utility now that exports my QuickBooks data into either an Access DB or a group of XML docs. I've been using the Access option and then importing that data into my SQL database so I can build a client section displaying invoices and estimates online. I'm not entirely satisfied with the Access option, as it requires that I delete all my SQL tables before I import an update of data (or I end up with doubled records of older data). It would be a great solution to simply upload the new XML docs to update the online data. But. Does XML work comparably to SQL, to allow me to manipulate the data, create recordsets from it, etc., or is it really a whole different thing made for a whole different purpose and I should stick to what I'm familiar with, even though it takes an extra step or two?     - Including .htm files conditionally? Hi I'm considering using .asp to implement a selective inclusion of .htm files containing tables into a HTML code sent to browser from IIS. My question is if it is possible to make an .asp page that depending on two variables passed in the query (start-month and end-month) return to the browser a page that includes only files with names within the specified months? Lets take it ones more: ;) 1. the .htm files are ready for use and named month01.htm (january) etc. 2. the user enters wanted months on a form in the browser 3. the .asp constructs HTML code that starts with some static html code, inserts the table for the first month, then some other text such as "February", then the next month etc stopping with the month defined on the input form.
