    - Possible to sort and omit duplicates in a list using javascript Hi All I need to provide a function on my site whereby a user can enter a number of ip addresses (one per line) so that I can submit this en masse to string holding space in my db. My problem is that I want to keep this list sorted as they enter the ip addresses and I want to check for duplicates so that they don't enter the same ip addresses twice. I was going to do this as a simple form submit and add each entry as a database row so that I could ORDER BY to get the sort and check for duplicates on the submit, but this client/server submit really slows the whole process. It would be great if I could order by and duplicate check on the client side so that once done all I'm doing is one client/server 'post' to the db. Is this feasible? Thanks Tag: infoooo Tag: 334202

I use Visual Studio 6 and Windows Server 2000 as a local development platform to maintain and extend them.     - cleartrust authentication in ASP I have an ASP page that will be calling a vb.net web service. The web service is secured by clear trust authentication. We have done some research and we found that we need to do the following in order to reach the web service from our ASP: 1. Create MSXML2.XMLHTTP object in the ASP 2. call the URL where the web service resides passing to it the user id and password 3. capture the new url and the cookie that the response will contain 4. call the new url and pass to it the cookie that was received in the response 5. another URL will be received and we need to use that to access the web service These are the steps that we understood that needs to be done. I am really disappointed that there are no documentations on that. I'm writing a web application in plain ASP with VBScript, and I frequently want to display the contents of a data structure that I've created, for debugging purposes.     - Problem separating request.form("value") from record ID Hi, I have an asp page which lists records. Each record has an ID appended to it. On the following edit page, I am trying to test against a certain field value, if it is >0 then run the update, otherwise don't. The problem is the data for testing is as follows: Dim arrMetal Dim iLoop arrMetal=split(request.form("ID"), ", ") For iLoop=0 to Ubound(arrMetal) IF request.form("del_qty_" & arrMetal(iLoop)) > 0 THEN Where del_qty is a number entered in the form, and arrMetal(iLoop) is the records ID whilst in the loop on the edit page. When I try the above if statement I get an error: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: '[string: ""]' If I response.write request.form("del_qty_" & arrMetal(iLoop)), then I get just the qty value without the ID printing. How can I re-write my if statement to test the qty value ??? I have tried using SPLIT on "_" but still the same . I tried just request.form("del_qty"), but this gives me nothing. During the migration, we also upgrade almost all of our code, say almost all html pages have been renamed to *.asp in order to handle those pages dynamically. But the issue here is our original *.html pages are ranked very highly by search engine. We are not sure what kind of redirect will be benign to search engines. And it seems that there is no one-page auto redirects solution like you can do with unix system (.htaccess file). On windows server, you have to redirect individually. (man, think about if you have thousands of pages on a site.) I searched a bit, the following code seems to do the job: put this code on the top of every page I wish to be redirected: <%@ Language=VBScript %> <% Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently" Response.AddHeader "Location", "http://www.example.com/yournewpage.asp" %> am I right? But I cannot do this way in the original *.html file since it is not *.asp code. Basically I have an asp page which displays a recordset of items on an order I have a link on the same page which takes the user to an edit page for the same data, i.e. data in text boxes etc. First, I created an update loop to save any changes to any of the text boxes in any row for all records. The Problem When I try and the use the ID from the above code whilst still in the loop, it throws me all th ID's of all the records displayed, not the one in the current loop, i.e. if I response.write Request.Form("ID") (i) I get 188185184186187 printed, so from that I do not understand how the above code works ?? No application error is generated, and no event is logged on Windows event log. I tried to use ProcessModelInfo.GetCurrentProcessInfo in my Application_End handler to get the ShutdownReason, but the code throws then an HttpException saying that the process metrics are only available if ASP process model is enabled.
