    - Pushing data to web page without refresh Hi, i have a server that recieves data often from a third party data provider often. I would like to PUSH this data to the client webpage, WITHOUT having to force the user to hit refresh or without having to use client side polling and autorefresh. Once recieved on the client, i can use something like DHTML to add it to a table. Any suggestions on how to go about this or what is the best technology to use for doing this?     - Validate email address right after exiting text box I have about 10 text boxes and "Email_Address" is one of the first boxes. I would like it so when they exit the Email_Address box it checks to see if it is in the right format before they continue. I have scripts that check at submit, but the form already goes through another complicated Perl script then and I did not write the script so I would rather not mess with that.     - .Config file usage with Classic ASP and DLL I am in the middle of developing a classic ASP interface to a .net based web service, where the programmer has generated a dll to be used by me to use this service (can't use soap for a number of reasons). His only outstanding question/issue is this: The .net service,when it is instantiated, references the web.config file to get a critical setup parameter. I know what this value is, but we are not certain if it will still work this way when ASP uses the server.createobject call.     - Dynamically specifying an anchor and name/value pairs Hi everybody Need your help. I have a DB-extracted list of say 5 items per page, which have links on each one that takes you to more detailed info on the 'clicked' particular item. When you are taken to the more detail page I have a link to take you back to the list. This all works fine and is standard stuff. My problem is that the user wants the go back link on the detail page to take them to specific item on the 5 items per page list. Now I know I need an anchor to force the list page to move to the particular item within the list page and I've already created a routine whereby I use a counter, as I'm listing the DB-extracted items to the page, to act as the anchor name for each item and I also querystring this onto the detail page for it to extract and put in the return address, but when you click on the return address its as if the anchor info in the URL has chopped off all of the name/value pair parameters, eg: http://mydomain.com/search-results.asp#x3?type=0&page=1&lid=ALL&sid=ALL&beds=ALL&min=0&max=2000000 The 'x3' is the anchor-positioner, but I get an error back saying the type param does not exist.     - Displaying records in a table Hi Everyone, This is the problem: I want to display the some records I have gathered in a recordset using a SQL query. I want the table to have 3 cells per row (easy so far). If the recordset happens to contain 15 records, then there are no problems (3 cells x 5 rows). However, if there are 16 or 17 records then the final row does not have 3 cells in it anymore (it has 1 or 2 cells respectively). What I would like to do is if there is only 1 cell in the last row then colspan=3 (Haven't decided what to do if there is 2 cells just yet.)     - Bulk emailing I need to send an email out to about 800 members of our organization once every month. I've been using a 3rd party listserver, but that's been cumbersome at best, trying to keep the two email databases in sync and all... I know how to write an asp loop to query our database and send an email to each of the 800 recipients, but I'm not sure if this is the right approach. We have an sql-driven website that's tied in as well, so ideally what I want to do is use asp to grab some website data from the sql database, generate the email text, then cycle through our membership database sending it to each member.     - Cannot open file in virtual directory defined via share I have 2 web servers both running win server 2003 with iis 6.0. On my PROD server I have a virtual directory called CONV. It points to a folder on the C drive of this PROD server. On my TEST server, I defined a virtual directory called CONV. It points to a share called \\prodservername\CONV. Note that the share name is the same name as that of the virtual directory. Using IIS on the TEST server, I can navigate to this CONV virtual directory and via right mouse, click EXPLORE. I see all the content I should but when I try to doubleclick on a file I get a message saying "Security alert" - "your current security settings do not allow you to perform system commands on this item". I've tried everything I can think of on the security settings for the physical folder on the PROD server. I extended EVERYONE from READ, etc. to FULL CONTROL. I added the user called INTERACTIVE and gave it full control. In short, I am stumped and guessing now.     - submitting more than one form Hi all, I don't know if this is possible or if it even makes sense, but this is what I want to do. I have a page with a form to fill in a timesheet for a user. Depending on how many users did a "job", a form will appear on the page for each user. So basically, you could have 3 forms, all with the same names etc. and the only thing distinguishing them is a hidden input with userID and different data for each user. Now what I want the person to be able to do is fill out all the forms on the page and submit them at one time, rather than one at a time. Then in the asp, I'd like to iterate through each form that was submitted (obv I don't know how many were so I assume I'd go through a collection if one exists) and process them one after the next. Is this possible and if so, how do I submit them all together and how do I then go through them on the asp side. GetThumbnail resulted in very poor quality, so I create a new System.Drawing.Image.     - Strange Problem I am trying to debug a if else statement by using the following lines of code Response.Write RSreccountCurrentExpense("reccount") & "<br>" If RSreccountCurrentExpense("reccount") < 1 Then Response.Write "Good" Response.End For a particular record,I can see that the if staement condition is satisfed and hence the if statement should be executed. However, if I comment out Response.End statment to let the whole code execute I am getting the error message as shown below. The error message shows that the else statment is getting executed and not the if. Once the if statement condition is satisfied, only the if statement should be executed and not the else. In the database we have three tables Employees Empname - Text Fullname - Text Records Id - Autonumber Subject - Text Description - Text Record Dependents RecordId - Integer Username - Text In record dependents there could be multiple values for each recordid basically it specifies who is allow to view a particular record. What I need help with is how do a search that will find what the user has specified but only bring back results for which he is a RecordDependent.     - Redirecting on Failed Image 404 I have some images on a domain (http://www.domain.com/image1.jpg for example). I want to create a sub-domain so that the images will be http://images.domain.com/image1.jpg for example. FISH is an ASP application which uses a WSC object called "finapps.fishapp" to handle the requests to the database. The problem we have only occurs for one of our clients, but occurs seemingly randomly on all 4 of their servers.     - Small Business SDK and ASP.NET Here is the issue. I am creating a module/WebApp that interacts with the new small business accounting 2006 beta SDK. The SDK requires a top level object to be created. I then use the â??.login(companyname, database name)â?? method to login. I can then add, edit, delete information in the application using this object. I need advice on what scheme to use to kick off the login the first time the user runs any code that interacts with the SDK. I would like the logged in object to persist for as long as the user needs it. For examples each user gets his/her own Small business object to use while at the site. This will greatly speed up the application/module. Any advice would be great. It uses windows account to login. It just needs to know the database name and company name.
