    - VBScript not recognised in Web page I have developed a web site using asp pages that use both vbscript and javascript. Run the site on my PC and everything is fine. Ftp to my web hosting provider which hosts asp pages and look on my site only to find my vbscript is not recognised. It is treated as pure text so you see <% =Request.Form("LoginId") %>. Also see all the vbscript when you "View Source". I have e-mailed my host provider but thought this may be quicker! Any ideas if I have missed something obvious or is it down to the host provider?     - Uploading images into a database Hi All, I would like to know if there is a way to upload an image and text into an Access database using asp.     - Adding Records Hi everyone, here's what id like to do. I have a table with 2 fields, name and value I need to be able to add multiple records quickly, for example I need to add name value abc 1 abc 2 abc 3 abc 4 abc 5 abc 6 etc etc, does each record have to be added separately, or is there a way I can add a chosen number of records, lets say 10, and have the value field increase by one each time? sometimes I might have 30+ simple records that need adding quickly, and each time the first records value will be one, and each record after will increase by one, is there a way to solve this problem or does each record have to be added separately?     - ASP include/strip body tag? We have an unusual situation at the USC School of Medicine; we have to covert every Web page to a template. The template is too wide to print and a lot of our students print lectures, notes, etc. We thought we could keep to the template and draw in the content from other files by using includes. BUT these files are HTML files and therefore, have Body commands in them. If this could work, we could put a printable link back to the other page and it would print. Seems like a great solution except for the extra body commands. We are using ASP for our scripting. 1. How much of a boondoggle will it be if the files have two body commands in them. How many browsers would it break? 2. Is there a scripting way around this without creating some objects? 3. Is there something out there -- shareware or commercial -- that would fix this problem. 4. Could something be done about this using pearl, for example? We'd really like to do it this way because we can have the users create the content, use the same file names all the time, thus overwriting the old file, and the user would never get a chance to screw up the template.     - Connecting MS Exchange Data and SQL Server via ASP? Hi, Our company currently has a SQL Server 2000 database with various client information, accessed through an ASP driven intranet. We also use Exchange 2000 and a shared contacts folder. Many of the contacts are also in the SQL Db and when we get a new client, information is often entered in both places. What I would like to figure out how to do, hopefully via ASP is create a user-defined field in the shared contacts which is their recordid in the SQL db and then be able to grab info from Exchange where needed so we would not have address & telephone numbers in both Exchange and the SQL db... I've done a little research on using MAPI with ASP but most of what I've found relates to sending mail, not to working with shared contacts.     - Automatically re-POST Hi there, I have a problem with IIS 6.0 + IE 6.0. I'm POSTing back to an ASP page a long lists of IDs used for sending emails (>10.000). This process takes more than 30 min. The problem is that this process is automatically restarted by posting again all the data. I checked ASP page and there is nothing to reload the page. But after more than 30 min. (changed the timeouts) the process simply restarts by posting again the full list. I only need to execute this page once. My question is why the whole process restarts posting back data (is not a simply GET, but POST)? There is no F5 / CTRL-F5 or Back buttons. It simply re-post data, without an error.     - Getting the Full HTTP location from the Request I need to pass an absolute, rather than relative URL to an item.     - How do you replicate an HTTP post in a client-side activeX component? I understand that there is no way to upload multiple files using ASP and COM+ without having multiple form elements like <input type='file'>. I also understand that there is no way to programmatically set the value of <input type='file'> in IE because it poses a security risk. I didn't know these two facts before I tried to create a client-side activeX component in VB6 which would allow someone to select multiple files from their hard drive. I was all proud of myself that the component could send a list of files to another .asp page, in the form of a querystring, for processing. Then I found out that it wouldn't work due to the limitations above. I'm aware of the commercially available products like XUpload, ASPXUpload, etc. that do exactly want I need, but I don't want to pay for them (this is a site for uploading my family pictures). Here is my question. It seems to me that if I can have a regular .asp page that contains multiple <input type='file'> elements, and a user could browse to individual files and fill up all the elements on the page, that there should be a way to replicate the HTTP post data. Can I somehow make my client-side activeX component post the same type of data? I tried using MS Stress Tool to view the post data being sent from a regular .asp page that contained several <input type='file'> elements. I saw that there was a structure to it. The structure contained the binary data of the files I had selected for upload. But, I have not been able to figure out how I would replicate this structure in my client-side activeX component.     - Off Topic - Client Billing Question This is a little off topic, but I know a lot of you do custom work for clients and may have some input on this... I recently did some paid work for a client - I created a fully customizable site, complete with an admin side and a shopping cart that is integrated into the PayPal system. It all works fine and he's happy with it. Now he wants to be able to resell "sub-stores" - sites that are identical to his, but with their own customizable information. He pretty much wants to sell copies of his code and wants me to help him set it up so he can do this on the fly. Ok, no big deal. My question (finally) is - how would you bill a client for a project like this? Would you bill him a one-time lump fee for making the necessary changes or charge him for each sub-store he sells - or both? Has anyone ever had any experience with something like this? I need the information to be restricted from the general public (available only by authentication, for instance) and made secure during transit (e.g. encrypted stream). I've installed a Thawte cert on my machine. Is SOAP an appropriate technology to deploy in this case given my security needs? Is there a better choice of tech that still allows interoperability/flexibility with varying data stores on the other end? Does SOAP allow authentication against certificates and/or MAC numbers, or does it generally autheticate using other means (e.g. passwords.?) What's the best practice?     - ADO fails FSO works on a share IIS 5.0 is running on a Win2K Server called serverA as a domain user. The domain user has administrator rights on the server. The database is on serverB(Win2K server). The IIS domain user also has full rights to the share. The database is an Access97 database that is part of another application. I made a copy of the database and did a compact and repair on the copy. It opens fine with Access 97 and has no security restrictions.     - Global asa refresh I have an application that loads an array in the global ASA file. Sometimes that array gets lost for no real reason, resulting in a ubound error. MS has a solution which involves removing virus-scanning and backup procedures...which is not an option. My question is simple...is there ANY way to force the Global.ASA to relaod that array?
