    - IIS 5 XML Permission Problem Hi, Has anybody had a problem with IIS permissions where it successfully uses a third-party DLL (developed in VB6) called from ASP, successfully accesses ADO in that DLL but fails with "Permission Denied" when creating a XML DomDocument?     - Rename a Folder Hi All I am using FSO to manage Folders and files. Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") strRet = fso.MoveFolder (cstr(strSource),cstr(strDestination)) Set fso = Nothing As there is no rename option in FSO so I have to use MoveFolder () to rename a folder. It renaming the folder if folder do not have any containing (child) folder, if there is any folder inside to that folder it gives error "permission denied" Any suggestion ?     - Get file size on client machine ? I use asp upload enabling users to upload files to the server. This works fine but I somehow need to check to see how big the file to be uploaded is.     - Updating multiple frames Hi, I've got a simple frame structure with a menu on the left and contents on the right. Now when a user clicks a menu item (on the top level menu) the menu.asp is reloaded with additional parameters to display the child-menu items. When doing this, I'd like to clear the contents frame (call a certain page to be loaded in this frame). Is there a way of doing it?     - Pulling the querystring off a 404 redirect Hi, We've got a custom 404 error page set up that attempts to mine information such as the page that generated the error, the querystring they used, the date/time, etc. However, we're running into a problem on the querystring portion... the querystring is being replaced with the error #, a semicolon, and the calling page. For example, if our 404 page was called error.asp, the bad request [http://mysite.com/badpage.asp?query=string] would turn into [http://mysite.com/error.asp?404;badpage.asp].     - global.asa VS default.asp I have some vb script in default.asp that detects what URL was requested and redirects accordingly, but it looks like the major search engines are not following the redirect correctly, so just the URL is listed... any way to use global.asa to handle the URL checking, and let default.asp only display content?     - Help creating controls I need a little direction on a project Iâ??m working on. The project is a .NET ASP web application. The application will present the end user with a survey. This survey is dynamic based on several rules. Since this survey is dynamic I have run into a problem. Iâ??m trying to create Labels, TextBoxes, and RadioButtonList at runtime. The way that I understand to do this is to declare the control and use the Add method Dim txt as New TextBo Me.Controls.Add(txt But I keep getting errors with above code stating the new control must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server.     - IFRAME - Refresh Table on Parent Window - maintain IFRAME State I have an IFRAME that is calling a stored procedure - that once completed I need to have do a "refresh" on the PARENT window that will then call another stored procedure to refresh a table with a result set. My problem is, I need to keep the IFRAME at its current state. Any ideas? For example: In the IFRAME, I would have a page that would allow the user to key in a payment for an account, apply the payment them the page passes the payment to a SQL Server stored procedure to insert the payment and other account information into a table in the database. On the PARENT page, there is a table that is keeping a "LIST" of all payments that the users has made on all their accounts - could be one or many - evertime the user applys the paymen in the IFRAME window, I need the PARENT window refreshed so that the stored procedure in that page can be called to load the table that displays the payments that have already been applied, but I cannot have the current state of the IFRAME (payment window) changed - must stay the same - Make sense? Just that table that lists the payments is all I need updated. Right now I can get the PARTENT page to update ever xxxx number of seconds, but that's not what I want, or I can get the PARENT page to update, but the IFRAME goes back to its orginal state (information asp page), cannot get it to maintain the payment window state.     - Prevent a page in an authenticated application from being authenticated Hi, We built an intranet application using Windows Authentication. For access external to the Intranet, we get a Logon prompt so the user can log in. We want to force the user to use SSL and so if the user types in a http:// URL, we would like to have the user redirected to https:// BEFORE the login prompt appears.     - Do I use a Join statement? I am not sure how to use join all that well. Here is my set up. I have two tables. Tables are Orders and VendorDetails. I would like to pull the Subtotals of all Orders that I have received an invoice from the vendor on. So, basically, if OrderID exists in the table VendorDetails, then give me the Subtotal for the OrderID in the Orders table. OrderID is set up with a relationship to both tables.     - Session variables I am trying to use Session("xxx"). When I declare the variable like this on page or in procedure, it doesn't work. Session("xxx") = "1234" Have also tried declaring it in Global.asa, but it doesn't printanything when I use <%=Session("xxx")%>. Any clues? Do I have to tell ASP or IIS that I'm using a Session Variable or something? I have followed several examples with like results.     - Bulk Mail Hope this is not too far off topic - Anyone out there able to point me to a good hosting service that allows bulk mail (Preferably in the UK)? I currently use Fasthosts for about 50 sites but a couple of customers want to be able to send newsletters and the like to members, about 500 max., and Fasthosts will only allow 10 mails per 30 secs. and/or 50 per hour. I originally set this up with CDONTS Newmail object on asp pages, which is when I found out about the Fasthosts rules. They won't budge so I must find a new host.     - Connect to Access 2002 on local computer Here's the code I'm trying to use; basic ASP code and it just reads the records in the database: I want to use it on my local computer where this file "ReadRecords.asp" and the "calgarywebconcepts_Master.mdb" file are both in the Inventory directory.     - Forcing to authentificate every tiome Hi all, I've a page with requirement to authentificate access every time when user loads it. I put it into separate directory and I could set BASIC authentification and it works fine except one thing - an authentification is asked only first time a page is accessed. I was wondering, which languages can be used in .asp files? I know one can use vbscript / JavaScript / jsp / perl. But, what about C++ / C / cobal / python / visual basic / fortan? and, if you want to use any of these, how would you do it? The default codepage is <% @ LANGUAGE = "VBScript"%>, which as we can see if vbscript.     - authentication Hi, I am running IIS server for hosting webpages. For one of the folders I want to enable the authentication. How to do this? My webpage is not asking login/password, when the page is accessed in browser. I don't want to maintain one more set of username & passwords. Server has already username & passwords. I just want to use that facility. All I need is only username in my scripts. I want this authentication only for few pages/folders. Any help appreciated. Can somebody suggest me a good book.     - Server access I have several ASP applications on my WinXP-Pro server. Typically I only allow users to access my server on a demo basis. Once the system goes live I remove their access and install the application on their own server. I now have a situation where a company wants to subscribe to one of my applications and I host it on an ongoing basis. In the past I have given demo users "Basic" access to my server and created a temporary user under the "manage" option, but now I want to give these new subscribers only access to the directory where their application resides ... and nowhere else.     - Export to Excel or txt File Hi I access a MySql Dbase and the results go in screen just fine (1 record per line etc) I want to export the data into excel and read that putting this at the top of my code would do the trick <%Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"%> However Im not prompted to save the file and the output just gos to the screen, I could make do with saving as a txt file but am not sure of the application type ?     - Please help Hi, I am creating a site on ASP and SQL, which would essentially be hosted in a third party server like Interland or Net4India. It is dynamic in nature, i.e. has its own database. But I have got a module in where I would need to connect to an remote SQL server, which is located somewhere else. I know the IP address. I would need to copy a table from that sql server to my server, and synchronize it regularly, just in case something is updated. Now my problem is, (1) How do I connect to that remote sql server using ASP. (2) Please suggest what method should I adopt to copy and synchronize the data between the two servers. However, it has the following run-time error on code: xml.transformNodeToObject xsl, ofile 'produces UTF-8: Error Type: msxml3.dll (0x80004005) The stylesheet does not contain a document element. The stylesheet may be empty, or it may not be a well-formed XML document. Any ideas? This database is used, among other purposes, to build a product Data Sheet, which includes How_to_Use information.
