    - correlate ASP page with timings of its DB calls Hi, I am looking for a tool/product (commerical or shareware) to correlate classic ASP pages (not ASP.NET) with timings of ADO calls made from each ASP page. The information I am looking for are T1, url = http://..../product.asp, DB Server=SQLSvr1, DB Name=products ADODB.Connection.Open 10ms ADODB.Recordset.Open 189ms ... T2, url = http://.../search.asp, DB Server=SQLSvr2, DB Name=productindex ADODB.Connection.Open 15ms ADODB.Connection.Execute 350ms ...     - Creating a form with multi select hi, I am trying to create a form where you may have more than one person at a meeting, but want to have them be related to the same meeting. I have a mulitple select text area and if you select more than one, all the records are being added to the same row. so if I picked the following three people: (Person ID/Desc) 1 - mickey mouse 2 - donald duck 3 - goofy The row in the data base would look like this: (Meeting ID/ Person ID) 1 - 1,2,3 But I would like to do this: (Meeting ID/ Person ID) 1 - 1 1 - 2 1 - 3 I hope this makes sense, if it does does anyone have a suggest on how to best do this?     - Using Text File to Store User Data vs. Database I want to know if this practice is effective and secure: I have been thinking about storing some data, which my users upload, in text files rather than database, since often I do not know how much information users submit for things like item description or images URL paths. This information may be very short or very long. MS SQL Server requires a maximum field length to be set. Thus, if user enters 5 characters into 5000 character field, a lot of space will be wasted. On the other hand, the database reference would point to the text files to read users' data and display it on page. So, please, share your opinion or experience about this technique. Thanks.     - Problem with Rnd Function When I use Rnd function in asp. It gives the random no but it always gives the same random number. What is its problem can any body tell me.     - Can Classic ASP talk to C/C++? I have a system written in classic asp and a lot of Javascript. Due to its performance and security issue, we decided to re-write this big module. I heard that C/C++ has a better support in performance and security (relatively) but here comes my questions: 1. Can ASP talk to C/C++? Because from my experience I use C/C++ mainly for application console. 2. If I want to exclude most of the Javascript and use other programming language instead, can ASP.NET do it?     - How to Get Data from MS Access 2000 into XML file Hi all- Hoping to get some feedback regarding an issue i'm having. To start with, I honestly do not know very much about XML or ASP, but in essence what I want to be able to do it take data from one of my Access 2000 queries and automatically export that to an XML file. then that XML file is going to be loaded with Google Maps API for use. What options do I have in exporting the data in access automatically? would it be just implemented everytime i call the function, lets say an ASP page? to give a little more (hopefully helpful) information, I want users to go to my site which has the Google Maps API implemented, and it will show them the rainfall and lake level data in my area. I figured XML would be best as I have seen someone implement a similar design in Canada using an XML file, however, I need to be able to get the information from the query in Access so it can be loaded onto the map for people to see recent data.     - menus and MasterPages I have 3 master pages. The second has a contents object that contains the horizontal menu, the third a contents object that contains the vertical menus and all WebForms use master3 as their Master Page. The content of any WebForms is below the horizontal menu and right of the left hand menu. My problem is that the menu structure is 5 layers deep in parts and the bits that need to be selected are actually over the WebForm content and whilst the item is visible, it is no longer selectable. With the left hand menu that can be partially resolved by Setting the Dynamic Horizontal Offest to a negative value and therefor pulling the position at which the menu item displays back into the content object bounds at the expense of some overlapping. I can apply a different style with a different offset for each level if necessary. With the horizontal menus however there is much less ability to be flexible especially with any menu that has numerous items. They are just unusable. In this case I think it is 'high-ranking' police officers who are aware of the persecution, they know a complaint has been made, and they're doing nothing. What is more, I don't think there is anything I can do that would make them take action, both because they may be being 'leant on' and through the wider view that it could be deleterious to the state to have a persecution by state organs exposed. They're wrong in taking that point of view, because sooner or later this will all out anyway, and they it will be n years of police inaction (n>=6) that will be questioned. > >In short, you have earned much sympathy but little surprise.
