I've posted a question here twice and unfortunatly got no
reply. Maybe it's a hard question. Maybe I've broken some
sort of netiquette and I'm being shunned. Don't know. If
the former, I would like to ask if anyone could suggest
another good resource for getting help with ASP and forms.
If the latter, I would like to know what I may have done
to offend, as I'm unaware and will most likely do it
again, and offense is not my intention.
Oddly I've also posted three other questions in other MS
newsgroups and never got any replies. Go figure.
Anyway, thanks for whomever takes the time to let me know
they've read my post.

I don't remember seeing your questions, so I cannot comment on why they may
not have been answered, but see here.

You did get a reply on your post entitled "How to POST and GET",
requesting that you post code. The aforementioned post, while not
offensive, is somewhat difficult to diagnose as it is presented in the
(rather long) narrative instead of presenting an explicit code sample
that would be more useful for reproducing/resolving your problem.

Well I read this part of the message. I get frustrated as
well when no one replies. I wonder if I am all alone in
the universe as well.

Regarding ASP forms please let me know what you are having
problems with. I am not an expert but I have coded my
share of forms.

Chris Hohmann said it very well. You didn't offend anyone. As for future
posts, have no fear, after all, "On the internet no one knows you're a
dog."

You're having a problem that either is rare or that (I suspect) you have
described in an unusual manner. I had tagged your 3 previous posts for
future examination but when you didn't provide a glimpse of the code, I
didn't feel it was useful to contribute any further.

Good Luck,

I read your post on aspmessageboards and I would still like to see the
code.

Thanks.

Due to popular demand here is the relevant code:
The ASP page:

<%@ Language=JScript%><%Response.ContentType = "audio/x-ms-wax"%><%Response.expires=0 %>
<%
{
var filnam = Request.Form("sname")(1);
Response.Write ('<asx version = "3.0">' + String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10));
Response.Write (' <title>Title</title>' + String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10));
Response.Write (' <entry>' + String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10));
Response.Write (' <ref href = "' + filnam + '"/>' + String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10));
Response.Write (' </entry>' + String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10));
Response.Write ('</asx>' + String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10));
}
%>

Now the snipped form:

<div id="thehiddenform" style="visibility:hidden; display:none;">
<form name="theform" method="POST" action="/data/asppage.asp">

<div id="recordinput">
<input type="text" name="numrecords" value="5">
</div>

<div id="songform0">
<input type="text" name="sname" value="filename">
<input type="text" name="sname" value="nextfilename">
<input type="submit" value="Submit" id="sendbutton"></input>
</div>

</form>
</div>

// this is called from inside a function:
document.theform.submit();

The form is actually built dynamically so I just added elements that aren't normally there
in my code. This is also the POST version. I am currently using a GET version.
Keep in mind that GET works fine, and if I change the ContentType to text and capture
and save the POST result, it is also fine.

Thanks for helping,
TurboDuster
