    - ASP / CDOSYS - Performance issue I'm hosted on a shared server with Godaddy.com... I have several forms on my website that all use the same ASP file to send out my forms.. It worked fine for a long time, but now the forms send to my e-mail arrive after a few hours instead of instantly. Calling Godaddy did not help as they stated all is working fine (no delays) on their end and refuse to help with custom scripts.. My emails are also hosted by godaddy like my website. Hopefully someone here can have a look at my code and see why I might have such huge delays? Note: The delays seem to happen when using CDOSYS... I'm also setting up a shopping cart (ProductCart) and when using the CDOSYS function for their email script it has also a huge delay, while setting it to CDO it arrives within minutes... I do not get any errors, all seems to go fine and mail does arrive after a few hours.     - working with values returned via SQL I have an ASP report that returns values from a SQL database and formats the data in an HTML table. I am trying to figure out a good way of using CSS to highlight the table row that contains the highest value returned. I tried storing the values in an array, and then used a function to find the highest value. I recently was creating a new OU structure and new security policy and during testing it was noticed that in fact happened on a server that has a web-app that uses Windows integrated authentication, which was a surprise to me. Does this "Log on Locally" policy also affect web-apps using Windows Integrated Authentication? Hello, We have a server that has IIS lockdown and basic authentication for a website and when the server team applied a policy that restricted logon only to administrators, no one was able to log into the application. The application users are not actually logging in locally, so I am thinking that there is something in the IIS definition that requires that they have this privilege. In addition, we took the IUSR and VUSR accounts and also Web anonymous (all "Web" groups local to the machines) and added them, and still no luck. We added the Everyone group, and this resolved the problem. Is there any way to preserve non Single Sign-on authentication and not have to have the Everyone group with the log on locally user right?     - IE6 Print Causing Reproducable Crash Due to CSS/HTML Problem I have a problem with IE crashing when attempting to print a complex web page. I know this newsgroup is for general ASP questions but I can't find an IE6 or general IE discussion group in the managed newsgroups in which to post. If anyone can point me to a more appropriate managed newsgroup I'd appreciate it (it must be a managed newsgroup as I have an MSDN subscription and they guarantee a 2 day response in managed newsgroups). One of my colleagues has already tried posting the problem to the public MSDN forums with no luck, his post can be found here: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2968905&SiteID=1 The problem is this; we generate a large webpage (XHTML/CSS) using XML and XSLT. The page has a separate stylesheet for printed media which is used to hide some items on the page using display:none. When attempting to print the page using IE6 it crashes the browser. We have around 400 internal users who experience the problem and have also had many reports from our customers as well. I can 'fix' the problem on a case-by-case basis by tweaking the CSS but this doesn't properly resolve the problem. Option 2: Using Application Pool (Option suggested by Charles) Specifying integrated security for the SQL connection string and usage of App pool with the service account in IIS server. 1. Creating a domain account. 2. Creating an App pool and specifying the domain account created above as credential for App pool. 3. Setting up the App pool for Web site instead of Default app pool. 4. Changing the SQL connection string in global.asa file as Trusted connection. Why not viable: App pool is designed for ASP.Net application and does not apply for ASP application. Though the application pool is set for the web site, the credential of the login user is used for accessing the DB. This would mean that users have to be given individual access to the DB. This is not an acceptable method of access. Option 3: Using Service account 1. Changing the connection string by removing the SQL Login and specifying the new domain account with password in global.asa file Why not viable: To use domain (windows NT) accounts for SQL connection, basic authentication needs to be enabled. This will not be applicable because all the application users needs to be added to SQL DB similar to Option 2. Option 4: Using COM+ 1. Creating a COM+ application which has component where a method returns a connection object to the ASP page. 2. Connection object will use the identity set for the COM+ application. 3. I am swimming OK so far (Image uploaded completed, XML/XSL menu created for the Master Page) but now now I have been asked to create a few screens that allow updating of small tables. Basically, you select the category you want to end, and you're presented with a list of names in that category. You click one in the menu, and are presented with a 'GridView', which has 'Select' enabled. Click Select, and a 'DetailsView' is displayed with an 'Edit' and 'Delete' button. The correct data from the selected row in the grid is displayed. Click 'Edit' and the fields become active. I edit. When I click 'Save', things go bad. It doesn't save. Now, my code is completely wrong.. so it's not worth posting. But here it is anyway, to help you underdtand how tangled I am: Basically, the case tests for which 'category' is selected. The 'Select' works fine for all categories. The update fails. Actually, the code below works, as I am hardcoding.     - HELP: managing multiple virtual folders of cloned websites I am an ASP web developer developing a website. I've got ASP files in many sub-folders of many levels deep. I've always used:  The VIRTUALSITE name is really the virtual directory created under IIS. I clone my website multiple times, to cater for different people. So, each person gets a different VIRTUALSITE name. This gets messy when I need to update the websites. I can't do a diff/merge because the files of each site had a "search & replace" applied to them to change the VIRTUALSITE name to the corresponding person. Has anyone experienced this problem?     - asp on IIS7 I'm running IIS7(2008 Server) and SQL both 64 bit. There's a simple client side code...that just doesn't make any sense. Is there something in IIS7 that could possibly have some effect on including the file. The problem is: <script src="myfiletoinclude.inc"></script> it works fine on my 2000 and 2003 box....running IE8 emulating IE7. No problems....but on the 08 box...it won't pull in the page.     - Copying and Saving Previous Course Info in ASP Form I'm currently working with an ASP page that populates rows based on a query for course data by using a DO WHILE NOT EOF loop. An improvement I'm adding is a dropdown populated by query which shows each course number, so that the user can populate that course page with data from a previous course. My question is: once the data from the previous course is populating the current course page (after being selected from the aforementioned dropdown), how can that data be saved to the current course's row in the table? I've tried pulling the result.querystring to get the CourseID of the current course, but for some reason the changes don't save. Would there be a better way to copy data from one row to another in a table? I am wanting the user to be able to preview the data as it populates the form fields before saving, if possible. the mail the user receives, some extra characters such as '!' or
spaces are coming between words. I tried defining a character set but
still the problem exitss.
Please help me with this.

I had the same problem but finally figured it out today. Are you using
any extended characters like @nbsp in the body of the html? Reply with
the string that builds your html message. The problem is specific to
spaces between quotes and the start of @nbsp and semi colons following
if there are certain html tags used.
