    - Multi Page Form HI All, I am writing a multi page form. I am using hidden input statements to pass my variables between different pages. Now I want to provide a page whereusers can update the previous entered data. The form at this point is populated through the hidden variables.     - Specify Quality for New Bitmap Object Please bear with me, since I'm an ASP guy, and not a .NET guy. On my site, I dynamically resize/resample images so they're not too large. GetThumbnail resulted in very poor quality, so I create a new System.Drawing.Image. It works pretty well for large images that are resized quite a bit, but if the original image is fairly close to the new size, there's a visible quality loss. I've come across some info on how you set this, but I'm not sure how to incorporate it.     - Unable to open Web project in Interdev I have been working with a project in Interdev for some time now.     - Strange Problem I am trying to debug a if else statement by using the following lines of code Response.Write RSreccountCurrentExpense("reccount") & "<br>" If RSreccountCurrentExpense("reccount") < 1 Then Response.Write "Good" Response.End For a particular record,I can see that the if staement condition is satisfed and hence the if statement should be executed. However, if I comment out Response.End statment to let the whole code execute I am getting the error message as shown below. The error message shows that the else statment is getting executed and not the if. Once the if statement condition is satisfied, only the if statement should be executed and not the else.     - ASP Search Hi All I am trying to build a search results page for the user. In the database we have three tables Employees Empname - Text Fullname - Text Records Id - Autonumber Subject - Text Description - Text Record Dependents RecordId - Integer Username - Text In record dependents there could be multiple values for each recordid basically it specifies who is allow to view a particular record. What I need help with is how do a search that will find what the user has specified but only bring back results for which he is a RecordDependent. Can this be done through simple sql? or do I need something more.     - Redirecting on Failed Image 404 I have some images on a domain (http://www.domain.com/image1.jpg for example). I want to create a sub-domain so that the images will be http://images.domain.com/image1.jpg for example. Once I move the images to the sub-domain any requests to the old locations will result in a 404. Is there any way to redirect all failed image requests to the new location?     - Out of Memory error using a WSC component in ASP page on IIS 5 on W2k Citrix server Can anybody shed any light on this issue ??? Or even ways of temporaily getting around it ??? FISH is an ASP application which uses a WSC object called "finapps.fishapp" to handle the requests to the database. The WSC is created in the GLOBAL.ASA as a Session object using the following line: <OBJECT RUNAT=Server SCOPE=Session ID=fish ClassID="{32f74dc1-40f8-4db3-98a7-000200040013}"> </OBJECT> The finapps.fishapp object creates an "ADODB.Connection" object that is held open while the session is running, and the Session_OnEnd event should call a method of that object that closes the connections The website falls over only when there has been a period of inactivity greater than the length of the session timeout, and also after there has been a significant amount of traffic prior to this! The problem we have only occurs for one of our clients, but occurs seemingly randomly on all 4 of their servers.     - Transfer .asp page to MS word include images within <IMG> tag I am using Response.ContentType = "application/msword" Response.AddHeader "Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=Letter.doc" to download my asp page to the client.     - Small Business SDK and ASP.NET Here is the issue. I am creating a module/WebApp that interacts with the new small business accounting 2006 beta SDK. The SDK requires a top level object to be created. I then use the â??.login(companyname, database name)â?? method to login. I can then add, edit, delete information in the application using this object. I need advice on what scheme to use to kick off the login the first time the user runs any code that interacts with the SDK. I would like the logged in object to persist for as long as the user needs it. For examples each user gets his/her own Small business object to use while at the site. This will greatly speed up the application/module. Any advice would be great. It uses windows account to login. It just needs to know the database name and company name.     - table relationships I'm trying to normalize my database the best I can this time around and I'm running into some trouble. I've been avoid normalizing for a long time now because while I know how to normalize, I'm weak on SQL strings so populating the database is a pain in the kee... but this is another story... ok, first of all is this a many to many or no? projMain (table) projID (PK) clientID (FK) etc......... ProjWebs (table) webID (PK) projID (FK) stageID (FK) *** SDLC (table) stageID (PK) *** stageName stageDescr *** is this a many to many relationship? Rather than hard coding SDLC info I'm putting it into a table. Since many of the records in ProjWebs can relate to many in SDLC and visa versa, this is many to many, yes? The problem is that these include files also reference an image folder. I am trying to create an absolute reference to these images so I don't have to make the same include for different directories.     - Generate SQL with a loop... Hello! I need to dynamic generate a SQL statement based on how many images a user select to upload. Here you see an example with 2 images. It can be up to 50 images and I dont want to write this lines 50 times since they are almost identical (Example, first line has "varImage_1" , the second has "varImage_2"... and It shall go up to varImage_50...). It has public and private areas, but uses the same connection scripting throughout the entire site. One of the users has a 3-computer home network, with 2 of the 3 computers logging on without a problem. The same is true within another network, where some work and others don't. Otherwise, the vast majority of users are having no problem whatsoever. Have you heard of this happening before? Is this an IIS issue? Please advise and thanks in advance.     - Avoidinig globals Is there a way to force a sub to only use global variables when explicitly told to? I mean that if I forget to dim a a local variable but there is already such a variable in the global scope then my function will use the global variable without me intending it too.     - xml, character encoding, asp question Hi... I've been doing a lot of work both creating and consuming web services, and I notice there seems to be a discontinuity between a number of the different cogs in the wheel centering around windows-1252 and that it is not equivalent to iso-8859-1. Looking in the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Charset and \Codepage, it seems that all variations on iso-8859-1 (latin1, etc) are mapped to code page 1252, which I'm assuming is windows-1252 in execution terms. So if I set the codepage=1252 and Response.Charset=iso-8859-1 in ASP, it seems that I'm *really* going to get out windows-1252, not iso-8859-1. This becomes somewhat noticable in html since a lot of commonly used elements (like the free-floating bullet Â?), which *aren't* really 8859-1, get interpreted as such in browsers. I occasionally run into problems, however, because MSXML doesn't appear to be using the mime database to determine how to process the encoding declaration (or at least it's got some different mapping hidden somewhere). MSXML appears to treat the range 128-159 the way the ansi standard defines them - undefined control sequences. As such, when you're processing xml (either xml to xml or xml to html via xsl), if you get what is *intended* to be a bullet (149) or curly quotes or any of those other extensions that are really windows-1252 in your xml, msxml won't make the association and translate the characters properly going between character sets. And unfortunately a lot of web services don't accept or generate "windows-1252" as an encoding declaration. So... 1) Am I correct in assuming that MSXML is using different encoding routines than IIS/ASP? 2) Is there a @Codepage I can specify that will produce real latin 1 in asp? 3) Will ASP.Net be more standards compliant? and/or does ASP.Net use the mime database under the covers too? 4) just as an aside anybody have a clue why when output via xsl for encoding utf-8 doesn't display properly in IE?     - IServerXMLHTTPRequest authentication problem I've an authentication problem with IServerXMLHTTPRequest. I've got two web server named WS_1 and WS_2 part of the same NT domain. On WS_1 I've published on the virtual directory virt1 the asp file example1.asp. On WS_2 I've published example2.asp on the virtual directory virt2. Both virtual directories have enabled only the Integrated Windows Authentication and I can't use any other type of authentication. The file example1.asp try to retrieve some information from example2.asp by using IServerXMLHTTPRequest object. The problem is that example1.asp can't retrieve example2.asp because the request is not made by the same domain user requesting example1.asp and so correctely WS_2 can't authorized current request. Inside the method open of IServerXMLHTTPRequest object I can set the user and the pwd.     - Memory leak? Private Bytes/Virtual Bytes Hi! As I ran in to errors like "Ran out of memory" and "Out of memory" I supposed my website might have memoryleaks. To trace a potential memory leak I isolated the IIS process and monitored the 'Virtual Bytes' and 'Private Bytes' for a while. I noticed the private bytes stays 'low' all the time. Sometimes a bit up, sometimes a bit down. Virtual bytes also follows the same pattern for most times. But, sometimes it increases to almost 2gb en stays there. I've been reading for memory leaks an aggressive caching and stuff and was wondering when there is a memory leak. In short: what does it mean thet the amount of virtual bytes stays high?     - Writing cookies from ASP with spaces and hyphens Hi. I have an ASP (3.0, not .NET) app that writes cookies with hyphens and spaces in the names and values. If I had the control over the apps that will be looking for these cookies, I would eliminate the special characters, but as it is, I do not have that luxury. When I write the cookies, they seem okay in IE, but in Firefox, they are strange. For example, the cookie name is US-NONUS, but in Firefox it looks like US%2DNONUS. For a value of NEW HAMPSHIRE it comes out in Firefox as NEW+HAMPSHIRE.     - Best ASP upload component Hello All, We have been having problem with our file upload component. It seems that at times the file upload process hangs, and the users get a timeout error. Although the users upload 1 or 2 image files at a time. I have altered the upload size limit property in the IIS 6 metabase properties, so I don't think that is the case.     - Session alternatives and hacks? Ok, so Session is less than desirable, at least that's what I'm always reading. So what are real, practical alternatives? Querystrings? an endless chain of hidden form fields?? Here are the things I'm looking for specifically.... 1). I need to identify users uniquely as clients in some kind of maintainable state. 2).     - Missing data in cookie I have a record set (rs) that contains 25 barcodes values that I set to true in a cookie. (see code section below) If I read the cookie from within the same page that created it, I see all 25 values. But if I redirect to another page and read the cookie only 18 of the values remain. Even though I load the same 25 barcodes at login, the 18 that remain can differ each time. If anyone can help figure out why I am missing data in the cookie, I would appreciated it. to there existing Active Directory - so the application
can use the same username/password for that application.

Is that possibly?

Sure - it simply means configuring IIS for authentication. This is covered
in detail in the IIS documentation.
